What's new at ShopWired?

A bug that affected the calculation of the processing fees for ShopWired Payments transactions where the customer used a UK business/premium card for the transaction has been resolved.

Previously, UK business/premium card transactions were mis-identified as UK standard/consumer cards and, as a result, ShopWired Payments charged the incorrect (lower) processing rate of 1.5% (or 1.9% for Essentials package users) + £0.20 instead of 2.2% + £0.20.

A fix was implemented on 6th February 2025 resulting in the correct processing rate being applied for transactions resulting from the use of UK business/premium cards from 6th February 2025 onwards.

ShopWired Payments will not be retrospectively charging users who received transactions on the incorrect rate and any processing fee charged for any transaction is fixed at the time the transaction is processed.

As a result of the bug fix, ShopWired Payments users might notice that for a transaction

• Of the same amount
• From the same customer
• Using the same card

Different processing fees may have been charged (if one transaction was processed before 6th February 2025 and one after 6th February 2025). This is expected and as a result of the correct rate for transactions now being applied.
