What's new at ShopWired?
Some minor changes & improvements
A number of small updates, improvements and fixes have been deployed across the platform.
New Twig variable for stockists
A new Twig variable has been introduced for the stockists page:
stockist.distance– returns the distance in miles (up to two decimal places) between the stockist location and the visitor’s entered town, city or postcode.
This can be used within custom themes to display distance information to visitors.
Domain name group permissions
Users with access to the Domain name permission group now also have access to the following related pages:
- 301 redirects
- Sitemap & robots
- Domain settings (including referrer spam and IP address banning)
This ensures domain-related functionality is grouped more logically under a single permission.
eBay listing linking via product import
It is now possible to link a ShopWired product to an existing eBay listing when importing products.
When importing products (creating or updating), you can now:
- Specify an eBay Item ID
- Specify an eBay end time (in the format dd/mm/YYYY HH:mm)
If an eBay Item ID is provided, the end time can also be provided. If the Item ID is removed using [remove], the link to the eBay listing will be removed.
This allows existing eBay listings to be linked to ShopWired products without using the standard import/export flow within the eBay app.
Order timeline improvements (mark as paid)
We have improved how order and quote timeline entries are displayed when marked as paid in the ShopWired admin.
For new orders and quotes that are marked as paid in admin:
- A clear timeline entry will now display that the order or quote was marked as paid in admin
- The timeline will no longer misleadingly show “paid through ShopWired Payments” in these scenarios
This makes it clearer when an order was manually marked as paid rather than paid via an online payment.
Order copy – amount to charge
When copying an order in the admin and proceeding to take payment, the grand total will now automatically populate the “amount to charge” field.
Previously, this amount was not carried over, which could cause confusion when taking payment.
Create order / create quote improvements
The following updates have been made to both the create order and create quote interfaces:
-
The Price column labels have been shortened:
-
Excluding VAT → exc. VAT
-
Including VAT → inc. VAT
-
A new Cost price column is displayed (where the Cost Price app is installed):
-
If a cost price exists for the selected product or variation, it is shown
-
If no cost price exists, N/A is displayed
These changes improve clarity when manually creating orders and quotes.
Website order indicator (new UI)
A visual indicator has been added to the order view page (new UI) to identify website orders.
- A new label,
Website order: Yes, is displayed in the Additional information panel for orders placed via the website - The label is not shown for non-website orders (e.g. admin, API or automated orders)
Previously, there was no clear visual distinction between website orders and orders created through other channels when viewing an order in admin, particularly where the same payment method was used.
This update improves transparency when reviewing orders without changing any filtering or order classification logic.
