We've updated the TikTok app to improve compatibility with products that do not have a valid GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) or other recognised product identifier.

Previously, when exporting products to TikTok, the app would still attempt to send values entered into the GTIN field even when the value was not a valid GTIN. This could cause TikTok to reject the product export.

For example, placeholder values such as:

• Does not apply
• N/A
• Other non-standard values

Could result in export failures because TikTok requires GTIN values to contain a valid identifier format.

The TikTok app will now automatically detect when the configured GTIN value is not a valid product identifier and will exclude the identifier from the export request sent to TikTok.

This allows products without GTINs to export successfully where TikTok permits products without a product identifier.

This update is particularly useful for:

• Handmade products
• Custom-made products
• Vintage products
• Products without manufacturer-issued barcodes
