Xero contact name export
When customer names on ShopWired orders contain previously when using the Xero app the name was exported to Xero without adjustment.
Due to a problem with Xero's API, this export caused an issue in contact matching where some orders would not export and instead generate an unresolvable export error.
Where a contact name contains non-ASCII alphabet letters, the Xero app will now non-ASCII alphabet letters to those used in the ASCII character set.
For contacts created by the Xero app before 23rd January 2025 that contain non-ASCII alphabet letters, if an order fails to export and causes an export error such as The contact name ... is already assigned to another contact. The contact name must be unique across all active contacts.
you must:
- Edit the contact name within Xero to swap any non-ASCII characters for their ASCII equivalent
- Retry the export within the Xero app's export errors section
