Sales tax report

For every state that you collect sales tax in, you have an obligation to send that sales tax to the relevant government bodies. How often you need to pay sales tax and how many different jurisdictions you owe tax to will depend upon how and where in the US you conduct business.

The ShopWired support team cannot tell you in what jurisdictions you owe tax or when that tax should be paid.

Within your ShopWired account you can view a report that allows you to see all of the sales tax that has been applied to orders in your account within a customizable timeframe.

To view what sales tax has been applied to your orders, select Reports from the menu. Then select Sales Tax from the choice of reports.

When the report opens you will see a list of sales tax jurisdictions for where orders within your account have had sales tax applied to them. Each tax jurisdiction has its own row.

Under State is the name of the state/territory where the taxing jurisdiction is located.
Under Jurisdiction/Name is the jurisdiction the tax has been collected for or the name of the custom tax rate that you have created.
Under Orders is the number of orders that apply to that jurisdiction/custom tax rate for the given time period. Select the number to see the list of orders.
Under Amount is the total amount of sales tax that is owed to the jurisdiction for the selected time period.

Use the 'From' and 'To' date pickers at the top of the page to filter the report.

You can export this report as a CSV file to help you (or the tax professional you’ve hired) with filing your taxes. Select export report to download the CSV file.
