US HTS Code support
When creating or editing a product — or when using the product import system or /products API endpoint — you can now specify a US HTS Code for that product.
ShopWired’s Landed cost calculator app uses the US HTS Code, when provided, instead of the HS Code as the product identifier sent to the duty engine for customs and duty calculations.
Entering a US HTS Code is optional. You only need to provide one if you want to ensure the exact US classification is used.
If no US HTS Code is entered, the duty engine will attempt to automatically convert the HS Code into a US HTS Code. Setting the US HTS Code manually avoids relying on this conversion and helps ensure more accurate duty results.
The setting is only applicable to DDP customs & duties calculations, and not to PDDP customs & duties.
