Reverting to a previous theme version
ShopWired automatically stores past versions of theme Twig templates (files) within your theme.
When editing a theme file, you can use the revert to previous version feature (toggled using the time icon) to revert to a previous version of the template.
When selecting a previous version, the new version will be loaded into the editor, but this reversion will not be applied to the 'live' file until you select save.
Saved versions
- ShopWired keeps a history of edits and groups them for each day
- A maximum of 20 versions can be saved for any one day
- A maximum of 10 days of history is retained, but these are not necessarily consecutive days
- Once the limit of 10 days or 20 versions per day is reached, ShopWired automatically removes older versions
Reverting edits made through Theme Engine
When using Theme Engine to make changes to your theme, changes are made directly through ShopWired's API and not through the theme code editor.
Therefore, previous file versions are not stored or accessible.
Revision history when duplicating a theme
When you duplicate a theme, the revision history is not carried over to the new theme.
The duplicated theme is created using the current version of each file only. It does not include any previously saved versions or edit history from the original theme.
This means:
- The new theme starts with no revision history
- Only future edits made within the duplicated theme will be recorded
- You cannot access or revert to versions from the original theme after duplication
If you need to access previous file versions, you must use the original (source) theme that the duplicated theme was created from.
