123 Reg - DNS instructions

Warning!

The instructions below are intended as a guide only.

Please make sure that you only have 1 A record for '@' (or blank) and 1 CNAME record for 'www'. If you have an A record for 'www' you should delete it.

Step 1. Login to your 123 reg account and select the domain you want to change the DNS for from the drop down list and click the 'manage' button.

2. On the next page select the 'manage DNS' link

3. Next, click the 'advanced DNS' tab.

4. Look for an existing record (row in the table) which has a Type of A and where the DNS Entry is @ (an example is shown below). If there is one, click to edit it. If there isn't go to step 6.

5. You should change the Destination/Target value to be 54.247.109.89.

Once you've finished and the record looks like the above click the green tick.

6. Only follow this step if there isn't already an A Record for @.

Go to the bottom of the records and in the empty row in the table enter values as follows


Hostname @
Type A
Destination IPv4 address 54.247.109.89


As shown in the example below.

Click the 'add' button.

7. Look for an existing record (row in the table) which has a Type of CNAME and where the DNS Entry is www (an example is shown below). If there is one, click to edit it. If there isn't go to step 9.

8. You should change the Destination/Target value to be ecommercedns.uk.

Once you've finished and the record looks like the above click the green tick.

9. Only follow this step if there isn't already a CNAME Record for www.

Go to the bottom of the records and in the empty row in the table enter values as follows


Hostname www
Type CNAME
Destination IPv4 address ecommercedns.uk


As shown in the example below.

Click the 'add' button.


The above two records will point your website's DNS records at our servers to show your website at your domain name.
