Common errors when listing a product on eBay from ShopWired
Common errors when listing a product on eBay from ShopWired
Quantity is not valid (515)
This error means the stock level you have entered for the product is too high (e.g., 9999999). You can fix this by changing the quantity to a lower value, e.g. 99.
The item specific is missing (21919303)
Your product is missing an item specific (e.g., colour, department, style, type). When editing the product, navigate to the custom fields section, find the field that applies to the missing information, and fill in the correct information. If the appropriate field does not exist in this section, you will need to configure a new custom field in your ShopWired account and populate the data.
This listing would cause you to exceed the number of items (x) and amount (x) you can list (21919188)
This error means that the total value of the listing you are creating (i.e. price * quantity
) is higher than the allowance on your eBay account. Assuming that you do not want to change the price of the listings, you will need to adjust the stock quantity to a lower value so that the total value of the listing does not impose the limit set by eBay. Alternatively, you can contact eBay support and request a higher limit. You could also consider removing other listings from your eBay account.
Requires unique variation specifics and Item Specifics (21916626) / Missing name in name-value list (21916587)
This error means that you have created a variation on the product which has the same name as an item specific for the product. You should remove the item specific details from the custom fields section and try and list the product again.

Seller has opted into business policies. Please use policy IDs rather than legacy fields for postage, payments or returns (21919456)
This error indicates that your eBay account has opted into business policies, and as a result, you need to use ShopWired’s eBay profiles feature to select a shipping profile, rather than specifying delivery rates. Navigate to Apps > eBay and enable profiles, and then select shipping, payments, and returns policies for the product and try again.

This error means that a postage service has not been specified for the listing. You need to specify at least one domestic postage service on the ShopWired products before sending it to be listed on eBay.
Invalid listing type
This error occurs when the listing type specified for the product is not valid or recognised by eBay. eBay supports different listing types, such as "Auction," "Fixed Price," "Classified Ad," etc., and each has specific requirements and settings.
Ensure that the listing type selected for the product is one that eBay supports and is appropriate for the category in which you are listing the product.
The most common listing types are "Fixed Price" and "Auction". Some listing types may not be available for certain categories. Verify that the selected listing type is allowed in the product category you are using. You can find this information in eBay’s category-specific listing policies.
Some item specifics were renamed as per eBay recommendations (21920277)
This error occurs when eBay has updated or renamed certain item specifics to align with their current standards and recommendations. The item specifics in your product listing may no longer match eBay's updated terminology.
Check eBay's guidelines and documentation for the latest recommendations on item specifics. eBay periodically updates these to improve search relevance and buyer experience. Utilise eBay's tools, such as their item specifics finder or category-specific recommendations, to ensure your listings are up-to-date. eBay provides these tools to help sellers align their listings with the latest standards.
The item specific (x) is missing (21919303)
Your product is missing an item specific that is required (for example Format or Artist). You’ll need to discover all of the required item specifics for the product category from eBay’s documentation and then add the necessary custom fields to your ShopWired account and enter values into them for the product on ShopWired.
EAN has an invalid value of "x". Enter a valid value and try again, or you can leave the EAN field blank (21919326)
This error indicates that the GTIN/EAN value entered is invalid. You should check the GTIN/EAN is valid on a third-party website and try again. If the product you are attempting to list does not have a GTIN/EAN, then enter Does not apply

- You have selected the option should we exclude the product description from being appended to the template on the eBay app page without specifying any content within the ebay styles/template setting.
Please check both of these scenarios, and if the problem persists, contact support.
