Allow visitors to upload files for products
The product file uploads feature allows you to ask your website visitors to upload files when adding a product to their basket. Files that customers upload are then available when viewing the order.
To use the product file uploads feature, you must activate it within your ShopWired account:
- Navigate to Products > Settings
- Locate the Customisation text & file uploads section
- Select the Activate the file uploads feature setting

To configure the number of file upload fields for products, when creating or editing the product:
- Navigate to the Product options section
- Select the File uploads tab
- Configure the number of files the visitor should be prompted to upload when adding the product to the basket, using the Number of files the visitor can upload setting
- This value can only be a whole number

The display of product file upload fields on product pages is determined by your website's theme. The number of file upload fields that you configure for a product are displayed on the product page for your website and, if your website is using a , they are displayed there too.
When a visitor selects files and adds the product to their basket, the uploaded files are stored on ShopWired's servers. Files uploaded by visitors must be no larger than 10MB each.

When an order is created containing a product with file uploads, the uploaded files are available for you to download from the view-order page in your ShopWired account.
- Files are organised into folders within a single zip file based on the ShopWired ID of the product
- If multiple products are ordered, all uploaded files are included in the same zip file
Files uploaded by customers are not included in order confirmation emails and are not accessible elsewhere in your ShopWired account or website.

The ability to make file uploads required is not enabled on ShopWired accounts by default. To activate this feature, contact theme support.

Whether or not file uploads are displayed to visitors on selecting a product option (such as a particular variation combination, product choice, or product extra) is not included in ShopWired themes as standard but can be added to a theme depending on the requirements.
