Reserve account
If your business is deemed by ShopWired Payments to be of higher than normal risk, for example, if you have an unusually high chargeback incident rate or a very high individual average transaction amount, ShopWired Payments may deem it necessary to hold some of your transacted funds in reserve for a period of time—i.e., not make them available to you for payout.
Where this is necessary, funds will be held in a separate account known as a Reserve Account
, and ShopWired Payments is contractually obliged to handle these funds in accordance with our terms and conditions.
Where ShopWired Payments holds funds in a Reserve Account, you will be notified in writing:
- Why a reserve account has been deemed necessary
- The terms of the reserve account
- An opportunity for you to appeal the introduction of a reserve account
A separate note will be shown on your ShopWired Payments balance page to indicate the amount in your Reserve Account.
Reserved funds are usually held in the reserve account for a set period of time, usually between 30 and 120 days.
When reserved funds are released back to your available balance, they will be scheduled for payout in the normal way.
