Delivery zones
A delivery zone is a location that you configure in your ShopWired account that you deliver to. ShopWired has a pre-defined list of delivery zones for you to select from. Delivery zones are usually countries, but several special delivery zones exist that cover more than one country or a specific area within a country.
ShopWired offers different types of delivery zones:
-
Special delivery zones are zones that are not countries; they either cover more than one country (multi-country delivery zones) or cover an area within a single country (specific area delivery zones)
-
Multi-country delivery zones are zones that cover more than one country. There are 3 such zones:
Rest of the world
,EU VAT zone countries
, andEuropean Countries
. Additionally, 6 other multi-country zones correspond to Royal Mail delivery zones -
Royal Mail delivery zones are 6 zones named according to Royal Mail’s naming system. These zones correspond to the countries designated by Royal Mail for each delivery zone
-
Area specific delivery zones are zones for specific areas within a country, such as the
Scottish Highlands
. This feature is deprecated in ShopWired, and the postcode delivery system should be used for area-specific delivery zones in the UK

Order of precedence for delivery zones
Order of precedence for delivery zones
Where a country or territory is defined in more than one delivery zone configured in your ShopWired account, an order of precedence determines the delivery zone chosen to display delivery rates available for selection for the visitor:
- A delivery zone for a specific country
- The EU VAT Zone delivery zone
- The European Countries delivery zone
- Royal Mail delivery zones
- The Rest of the World delivery zone
If a country or territory falls under multiple delivery zones in your ShopWired account, by default ShopWired will select delivery rates only from the highest precedence zone where at least one delivery rate is configured.
As a result, delivery rates from lower precedence zones will only be displayed if an applicable rate is unavailable in the higher precedence zone.
