Variation and filter syncing

You can use the filter/variation syncing app to automatically create product filter groups and product filters from variations you have configured on your products.

To use this feature, you must have the product filters app installed.

To install and enable the app:

1. Navigate to Apps
2. Locate the Filter/variation syncing app
3. Select install this app
4. Navigate to Apps > Manage > Filter/variation syncing
5. Select enable

If you'd like to be sent reports by email about syncing operations the app performs, add your email address into the Report email setting.

ShopWired’s standard filter functionality doesn’t automatically create product filter groups and product filters based on variations configured on your products, but the filter/variation syncing app does so automatically.

• When you create a new variant option (e.g. colour or size) and a filter group does not already exist with that name, the app will create a new filter group
• When you add new variation values within an option (e.g. red or small), filters with those names will automatically be added to the corresponding filter group

If you manage stock levels for variations:

• When a variation value goes out of stock, the filter/variation syncing app will automatically remove the filter from the corresponding filter group
• When all variation values within a variation option go out of stock, the filter/variation syncing app will automatically remove the filter group for that product
• When an out-of-stock variation value comes back in stock, the filter/variation syncing app will automatically be applied to the corresponding filter group
