Maximum file sizes
The maximum dimensions for any image that you can upload to your ShopWired account, in any area, are 6000px x 6000px. If you have images larger than these dimensions, you will need to reduce the image dimensions before uploading the image to your ShopWired account or using them in an import.
You can use image editing software such as Photoshop or online image editing software such as Pixlr to reduce the dimensions of your images.
The maximum file size for any single image that you can upload to your ShopWired account is 4MB. If you have images larger than 4MB, you should either reduce the dimensions of the image, change the image file format (e.g. change from PNG to JPG), or upload the image to a free compression tool such as TinyJPG.

ShopWired does not make specific recommendations for image sizes or dimensions for your product, category, brand, and blog post images. ShopWired does, however, make the following recommendations:
- Images of each type (product, category, brand, and blog post) should be uniform in their shape and/or dimensions (or as close to uniform as possible) to optimise their appearance on your website
- You should upload the highest quality/size that you have for each image (ensuring the dimensions are less than 6000px x 6000px and the file size is less than 4MB)
- All of ShopWired’s Version 5 themes allow you to adjust the aspect ratio of displayed product, category, brand, and blog post images
- You should not edit your images to match your theme; your theme should be edited to match your images. Contact theme support for assistance in customising your theme to better display your images
- All of ShopWired’s Version 5 themes allow you to adjust the of displayed product, category, and brand images
- If you have images in many different shapes/aspect ratios/dimensions, then you should choose the most common among them as your standard format and edit the other images to match
- If you are completely unsure about image sizes, ShopWired recommends making your product, category, and brand images square in shape and to dimensions of 4000px x 4000px

Your theme can display images in various places depending on your theme settings and its design.
When uploading images to your theme, the recommended size for each image will be displayed in the theme editor, and you can use the image editing system within ShopWired to edit the image to the recommended dimensions. You can also consult your theme’s help guide for the recommended image sizes for each type of image.
The aspect ratio and dimensions of any image on your theme can be adjusted by editing your theme files. Therefore, if your chosen theme’s recommended image sizes are different from the majority of images that you have, it is strongly recommended that your theme is adjusted to match your image files (do not edit your image files to match your theme).
