Partial identifier matching
This setting relates to the use of SKU codes, GTINs and MPNs on your website.
Use this setting to allow partial matching with identifiers. When selected, visitor searches will return results when only a part of their search keywords match with your product identifiers. Deselecting the option means that the user will need to exactly enter the full product identifier.
Read more about partial matching and how it affects search results.
Match logic
This setting relates to when visitors enter more than one keyword into your website's search.
and
means that every keyword entered must match with a product for it to be returned in search resultsor
means that any of the keywords entered can match with a product for it to be returned in search results
Keyword boost
This setting relates to how much of a 'boost' to give products in relevancy scoring when the visitor's search matches keywords for the product. A lower value means keywords receive less of a boost, a higher value means keywords receive more of a boost.
Minimum should match
This setting only applies to your website's search if you have selected the match logic setting as or
.
- When set to
100%
, all of the visitor's keywords must match with a product for it to be returned in search results - When set to
0%
, only one of the visitor's keywords must match with a product for it to be returned in search results
When selecting a value between 0% and 100%, this controls how many of the visitor’s keywords must match a product for it to be included in the search results. For example, with three search keywords:
- A setting of
67%
would require at least two out of the three keywords to match with the product - A setting of
50%
would require at least one out of the three keywords to match (because 50% of 3 is 1.5, rounded down to 1) - A setting of
34%
would still require at least one keyword to match
