Gross profit report
ShopWired's gross profit app allows you to track the of sales on your website by adding the of your products.
Once you've added cost prices for products and received orders, you can generate a gross profit report for a particular time period.
To install the app:
- Navigate to Apps
- Locate the Gross profit app
- Select

Cost prices and VAT
Cost prices and VAT
When adding cost prices, enter them either including or excluding VAT following how you have configured your ShopWired account to enter product and delivery prices.
When cost prices are entered including VAT:
- For product extras and product choices, the treatment of VAT on cost prices follows the VAT liability of the product
- If a product is marked as zero-rated/exempt from VAT, product extra and product choice cost prices are assumed to be zero-rated/exempt
- If a product has a custom VAT rate (or the ), product extra and product choice cost prices are assumed to have the same VAT rate
- For products, cost prices follow the VAT liability of the product
- For product variations, cost prices follow the VAT liability of the product variation (which can inherit the VAT liability of the product)

Once you've installed the app, you can add cost prices. Cost prices can be added for:
- Products
- Product variations
- Product extras
- Product choices
Cost prices can be added either when creating or editing the product, or using the product import/export system.
Products
To add cost prices for a product, when creating or editing a product navigate to the Cost price section and use the Cost price setting.
Product variations
To add cost prices for variations, when creating or editing a product navigate to the Variations section and use the Cost price setting to add a cost price for each variation combination. When a variation combination does not have a cost price, it will inherit the cost price added for the product.
Product extras
To add cost prices for product extras, when creating or editing a product navigate to the Product extras section and use the Cost price setting.
Product choices
To add cost prices for product choices, you can enter a cost price when configuring the product choice options on the Product choices page.
The cost price added for a product choice option can be overridden when the product choice option is assigned to a product. Use the Cost price setting available for each product choice.

You can add cost prices for products, variations, product extras and product choice options using the product import system:
- Use the

Product Choice Cost Prices
column to add cost prices for product choice options
The format of data for each column depends on which type you are adding cost prices for. Refer to the product import column definitions help guide for more information.

Cost prices are stored with an order at the time the order is created.
If a cost price is added or amended after an order is placed, the cost price for the items in previous orders is not affected.
It is not possible to add or edit cost prices for orders.
Generating a gross profit report
Generating a gross profit report
Once you've received orders for items in an order that have cost prices entered, you can generate a gross profit report for a period of time.
- Navigate to Dashboard > Reports
- Locate the Gross profit report
- Select the period you want to generate the report for using the
period from
andperiod to
filters - Select how many items to include in the report using the
number of data points
filter - Use the
brand
filter to only generate the report for products assigned to a specific brand - Select
apply filter
The generated report can be exported to a CSV file by selecting the export report
option.
The report lists the applicable products in a table. The report segments products by variations (each variation combination appears as a separate entry in the report).
