Trade only categories and products
ShopWired's trade-only feature for categories allows you to create a set of categories that are only visible to visitors logged into trade customer accounts. This feature can then be extended to create trade-only products that normal website visitors cannot view.
To use this feature, you'll need to install the trade accounts app:
- Navigate to Apps
- Locate the Trade accounts app

Trade-only category
A trade-only category is a category that is only visible to visitors logged into trade customer accounts. It is hidden from your website's and cannot be visited through its URL for standard visitors.
Trade-only product
A trade-only product is a product that is only assigned to trade-only categories.
Non-trade product
A non-trade product is a product that is only assigned to categories that are not configured as trade-only categories.

To use the trade-only features, you must first activate them within your ShopWired account:
- Ensure the trade accounts app is installed
- Navigate to B2B > Trade settings
- Select the setting Activate a different product/category environment for trade and normal customers
- Select the setting Show a different category menu to trade customers

To create a trade-only category, when creating or editing a category navigate to the Category information section and select the setting Assign as a trade only category
When viewing categories in your ShopWired account, trade-only categories are indicated with a (T) next to the category name
You can designate categories as trade-only using the category import/export system. Enter Yes into the column Trade Category.

If you only want to display trade-only categories to website visitors logged into a trade customer account:
- Navigate to B2B > Trade settings
- Select the setting Only show trade categories to trade customers

To hide trade-only products from non-trade customers:
- Navigate to B2B > Trade settings
- Select the setting Allow non-trade customers to be able to view products that are only assigned to trade categories
When this setting is activated:
- Non-trade customers will not see trade-only products in search results
- Non-trade customers will not be able to access trade-only product pages through their direct URL
- Trade-only products featured elsewhere on your website will only be visible to trade customers

- Navigate to B2B > Trade settings
- Select the setting Hide non-trade products from trade customers
When this setting is activated:
- Trade customers will not see non-trade products in search results
- Trade customers will not be able to access non-trade product pages through their direct URL
- Non-trade products featured elsewhere on your website will not be visible to trade customers
