Landing pages

If you're creating standard text and information pages for your website, such as Terms & Conditions or Privacy Policy, most of the time you'll find it easier to use ShopWired's website pages feature.

However, if you want to create content-rich pages, including galleries, specific products, different text sections, and other types of content, you can use the landing page feature.

Some example use cases for the landing pages feature include:

• Promotions and sales: Create a dedicated page for a promotional campaign or sale, showcasing featured products, discounts, and special offers to drive conversions

• Product launches: Design a page to introduce a new product line, complete with images, videos, and detailed descriptions to generate excitement and inform customers

• Content marketing: Use landing pages to publish blog posts, guides, or informational content that supports your brand and provides value to your customers

• Lead generation: Create a page with a sign-up form to collect email addresses for newsletters, special offers, or event invitations

• Event announcements: Design pages to promote upcoming events, such as webinars, in-store events, or product demonstrations

To create a landing page:

1. Navigate to the theme editor Website > Themes
2. Select customise your theme (you can create landing pages for either your live theme or a draft theme)
3. Locate the currently viewing option at the top of the theme editor:
   • Select the drop-down menu
   • Scroll to the bottom of the drop-down menu
   • Under the Landing pages heading, select the + create new option
4. Enter the page's Title
   • Page titles are used by you to identify the page in your ShopWired account
   • Page titles are not displayed on your website
5. Enter the page's URL
   • The URL setting determines where your page appears on your website, e.g. for a website page at https://www.yourdomain.com/my-page enter the URL as /my-page
   • Configure a URL optimised for SEO
6. Select create

Once you've created the landing page, use the section and block system to customise its contents by adding new sections and configuring the content for each section in the same way as other pages on your theme. Read more guidance about sections and blocks.

Once you've configured the content for your page, select the save option.

Use the landing page settings option to edit settings for your landing page:

• Configure the page's Title
• Page titles are used by you to identify the page in your ShopWired account and are not displayed on your website
• Configure the page's URL
• The URL setting determines where your page appears on your website, e.g. for a website page at https://www.yourdomain.com/my-page enter the URL as /my-page
• If you change the URL of a landing page, ShopWired recommends configuring a 301 redirect to redirect traffic from the old URL to the new URL
• Configure a title tag
• Configure a meta description
• Configure the meta keywords
• Use of meta keywords is deprecated and not recommended

When you create a new landing page, it won't automatically be included in your website's menus. Use the link lists feature to add the page to your website's menus.
