Blurb is a self-publishing platform that allows creators to design, print, publish and sell books including photo books, magazines and trade books.

Blurb integrates with ShopWired by providing that can be added to your ShopWired website so visitors can preview your published book directly on your website.

Account creation

Create an account on the Blurb website at Blurb.

After creating your account you can create and upload books using Blurb’s publishing tools. Once a book has been published, Blurb provides embed code that can be used to display a preview of the book on your website.

Adding a Blurb book preview to your website

Blurb provides embed code that allows a preview of your book to be displayed on your website.

An example of the embed code is shown below.

The code shown above is provided as an example only. You must copy the exact code provided in your own Blurb account, as the code and any ID values will be unique to your book.

You can control the size of the preview by changing height="100%" and width="100%" to pixel values, for example height="700" width="900". Leave the rest of the embed code unchanged.

To add the embed code to your ShopWired website:

Navigate to Website > Themes
Select customise your theme for the theme you want to edit
Select add a new section
Select the custom HTML section type
Paste the Blurb embed code into the Custom HTML setting
Use the theme editor to position the section where the book preview should appear
Save your changes

You can also add the embed code to a landing page or website page by enabling the Tick here to enter additional custom HTML/JS/CSS setting and pasting the embed code into the custom HTML field.

Recommendations

Publish your book in Blurb before embedding it on your website so the preview loads correctly
Test the embed code on a draft theme before updating your live theme
Adjust the iframe height and width values to ensure the preview displays clearly on your website layout
Place book previews on dedicated landing pages to improve presentation and loading performance
