ShopWired's image editor

ShopWired's image editor is provided by a third-party platform called PQINA and is called Pintura

Pintura allows you to crop, resize, rotate, flip, and make adjustments to images before saving them to your store.

It's available on most of the images you upload to ShopWired, including category, brand, and product images, as well as images you upload to your theme.

To launch the editor, select the edit icon next to the image:

Crop

• Rotate the image in 90° increments to adjust orientation
• Flip the image horizontally or vertically for mirrored versions
• Crop the image to remove unwanted edges or to focus on a specific subject
• Maintain consistency by using preset aspect ratios when cropping, helping ensure your store’s image layout remains uniform
• Pintura intelligently keeps the crop area inside the image bounds, automatically adjusting the zoom and position when rotating or scaling

Finetune

Use powerful controls to precisely adjust how your image looks. All changes are applied in real-time, and you can reset or undo at any time:

• Brightness – make the image lighter or darker overall
• Contrast – increase or decrease the difference between light and dark areas
• Saturation – control the intensity of the colours
• Exposure – adjust how much light is let into the image
• Temperature – warm up or cool down the image’s colour tones
• Gamma – control midtones without affecting highlights and shadows
• Clarity – sharpen details for a crisper appearance
• Vignette – darken or lighten the image edges to draw attention to the centre

Decorate

Pintura includes a wide range of drawing tools to help annotate or highlight specific areas of an image:

• Use the sharpie tool to draw freehand lines or shapes
• Use the eraser tool to remove freehand drawings without affecting the original image
• Use the path tool to create more structured, editable shapes
• Use the line tool to add straight lines
• Use the arrow tool to point at key parts of the image
• Use the rectangle tool to add boxes or borders
• Use the ellipse tool to highlight circular areas or create soft overlays

All shapes can be moved, resized, duplicated, or layered on top of one another. You can also choose from a palette of colours.

Add text

• Add text anywhere on the image using customisable font, size, alignment, and colour options
• You can enter multiple lines of text and position it exactly where you want
• Font choices are predefined and cannot be customised further

Redact

• Use the blur tool to hide sensitive or private information in an image
• The algorithm ensures blurred content is securely obscured and not recoverable

Add filters

• Apply a range of carefully designed filters to change the style or tone of your image
• Filters are ideal for giving product or banner images a consistent look
• The default filter set is available in the editor — custom filters are not supported

Resize

• Enter specific dimensions to resize your image to the exact size needed
• Use the padlock icon to lock the aspect ratio and prevent distortion
• Resizing is performed entirely in your browser to speed up image processing and reduce file size

Add frame

• Add a simple border or decorative frame around the image
• Frames can be used to match your website’s aesthetic or draw attention to certain content

Undo and redo

• Use the arrows at the top of the editor to step backward or forward through your changes
• There is no limit to the number of steps you can undo or redo during a single editing session

Zoom and pan

• Zoom in for precise editing using scroll, pinch, or zoom controls
• Pan across the image by dragging when zoomed in to focus on specific details
