- You can create voucher codes with valid from and valid to dates
- You can create voucher codes to be automatically applied to a visitor's basket without them having to enter the code
- You can configure voucher codes to only be used a specific number of times and/or restrict the number of times a visitor can use the same voucher

Enter the Voucher code, which is the text that visitors will enter on your shopping basket page to apply the voucher code to their basket, for example, 10OFF
for a 10% discount voucher code.
Enter the Valid from and Expires on dates, which determine when the voucher code can be used by visitors. The voucher code will be able to be used from 00:00:00 on the valid from date up to 23:59:59 on the valid to date.
If you'd like the voucher code to be applied to visitors' baskets automatically, without them having to enter the voucher code, select apply code automatically
. Leave this setting deselected if you would like visitors to enter the code manually to obtain the discount.
Select the Discount type, which is the type of discount that will be applied when the visitor enters the voucher code:
- Monetary discount is used to create a fixed monetary discount
- % discount is used to create a percentage discount
- Shipping discount is used to create a discount applied to the shipping costs of a basket
Voucher codes that use a monetary or percentage discount can only reduce the cost of the product itself. These voucher codes do not apply to specific delivery prices, product choices, product extras, or shipping costs. The discount will be calculated based solely on the product’s base price.

Maximum uses
The Maximum number of uses (all customers) setting determines the total number of times that the voucher code can be used by all visitors:
- Once the voucher code has been used the maximum number of times, new visitors will not be able to apply the voucher code to their basket
The Maximum number of uses (per customer) setting determines the number of times that an individual visitor can use the voucher code:
- For this setting to work and be enforced, visitors must be logged into a customer account at the time the voucher code is used
- The limit is applied to each customer account; if the same individual registers for a second account, the limit is enforced separately on that account

Voucher codes on your website
Voucher codes on your website
Your website visitors can enter a voucher code on the shopping basket page. The appearance of the voucher code form is determined by your website's theme.
ShopWired's Version 5 themes have a theme setting that allows you to specify which types of website visitors can enter a voucher code, allowing you to prevent certain visitor types (e.g. visitors logged into a trade account) from entering a voucher code. You can use these theme settings to completely remove the voucher code form on your website.
When a voucher code has been applied to the visitor's basket, the discount obtained from using the voucher code is displayed in the discounts line total.
Only one voucher code can be used on a visitor's basket at any one time. Once a voucher code has been applied to a basket, the visitor will need to remove the voucher code (by selecting the remove option) if they want to apply a different voucher code to their basket.
