Product settings
The product settings page of your ShopWired account allows you to change various settings relating to products and their behaviour on your website.
An explanation of each setting is provided below.
Limits

Maximum number of images that can be uploaded to a product
Use this setting to determine the maximum number of images that can be uploaded to a single product. When the setting is adjusted, more image fields will be available when creating or editing a product, and more image columns available in the . The default value is 5

Maximum number of categories that can be assigned to a product
Use this setting to determine the maximum number of categories that can be assigned to each product. When the setting is adjusted, more category assignment settings will be available when creating or editing a product, and more category columns available in the product import template. The default value is 3

Use this setting to determine the maximum number of that can be assigned to a (sub) category. When the setting is adjusted, more parent category assignment settings will be available when creating or editing a category, and more parent category columns available in the . The default value is 3

Use this setting to determine the maximum number of that can be configured for a product. When the setting is adjusted, more product extra settings will be available when creating or editing a product, and more product extra columns available in the product import template. The default value is 3

Activate the customisation text feature
Activate this setting to allow your website visitors to enter custom text when adding a product to the basket. You can configure the fields available to them on your website and the field labels. Enabling this setting also allows you to configure customisation fields through the product import system. Read more about the customisation text feature.

Activate this setting to allow your website visitors to upload files when adding a product to the basket. You can configure the image fields available to them on your website. Enabling this setting also allows you to configure file uploads through the product import system. Read more about file uploads.

Reserve stock quantities for products in a visitor's basket
If you would like the stock quantities for products that a visitor has added to the basket to be reserved for them during the order process then select this setting.
Stock reservation time
Specify the amount of time, in minutes, that the visitor's reserved stock should be reserved for them. After this time has elapsed, other visitors will be free to add the same units to their basket.
Out of stock products

Hide out of stock products from search results and category pages
To hide out of stock products from your website's brand, category and search results pages select this setting. If a product has variations, all variations will need to be out of stock for the product to be hidden.
When activated, visitors will still be able to view the product if they have access to the product page URL (for example, if they click on an advert for the product).

Generate random related products for all products
Select this setting and ShopWired will generate random for all of your products that don't specifically have related products configured for them manually. Random related products are generated by looking at other products within the same categories as the product.
Charge product choice prices for multiple quantities of the same product
Select this setting to charge for , when selected by a visitor, when they add multiple quantities of the corresponding product to the basket.
Activate product Q&A on all products
When using the Product Q&A app you can use this setting to mark all products as suitable to display the product question form and previous answers.

Global minimum order quantity
Use this setting to configure a global minimum order quantity restriction across all products. Any global minimum order quantity configured in this setting will override any quantity restrictions set at the product level.

Use this setting to configure a global maximum order quantity restriction across all products. Any global maximum order quantity configured in this setting will override any quantity restrictions set at the product level.
Who should be restricted by minimum and maximum order quantities
Use this setting to configure the types of website visitors who are restricted by minimum and maximum order quantities.

Who should have access to multi-buy offers
Use this setting to configure the types of website visitors that have access to multi-buy offers. Only the types of visitors you configure will be eligible to receive the discount as a result of the offer (and view that the offer exists).

Product default sort order
Use this setting to configure the default for products when they appear on your category and brand pages. Visitors to your website will still be able to select a different sort order (from the same options available to you).
To set your own custom sort order, select the manual
option.

Use this setting to configure whether you will configure a single sort order for each product that will apply globally across all category and brand pages, or whether you will configure a specific sort order for each product for each individual category and brand.
If selecting to configure a specific sort order for each product for each individual category and brand, once you save your changes a new import/export section will appear at the bottom of the page.

These settings only apply when using the stock on back order app.
Configure out of stock products to be
Use this setting to select the default behaviour for products. Products can either be assumed to be purchasable when out of stock or assumed to not be purchasable when out of stock. This setting acts as a "catch-all" for products that you haven't specifically defined out of stock behaviour for.
Global quantity limit for out of stock products
Use this setting to select a "catch-all" limit for how "out of stock" a product can go. The global quantity limit applies to all products that are assumed to be purchasable when out of stock, or where you have marked a product specifically as being purchasable when out of stock, and does not apply to products where you have specifically set an out of stock limit.
