MailChimp
MailChimp is an email marketing platform which you can use to send out newsletters to your customers.
The MailChimp app allows you to connect your ShopWired account to your MailChimp account. If you don’t already have a MailChimp account, you can create one here.
Once you have installed and configured the MailChimp integration the details of any new customers who create an account with you, place an order with you or sign up to receive your newsletters will automatically be sent to your MailChimp account in accordance with your settings.

Details of customers who create an account or place an order with you will only be sent to MailChimp if they agree to accept marketing from you.
To use the MailChimp integration you must first install the app. To do this select INSTALL THIS APP.

Connecting the app to your MailChimp account
On the MailChimp page in the admin system select authenticate:
Then sign in to your MailChimp account, and you’ll be asked to authorise the app to connect to your MailChimp account. Select Allow:
Your ShopWired account will now be connected to your MailChimp account. You will then be taken back to the app configuration page within the admin system so you can configure your settings.
Mapping your audiences
Use the ‘Select Subscriber Lists’ section to choose (or ‘map’) which of your MailChimp audiences your customers’ details should be imported to when specific events happen within the ShopWired platform.
A different list can be selected for each of these events:
When A Customer Creates An Account: when a customer creates a normal account on your website
When A Visitor Creates An Order: when a customer successfully makes a purchase on your website
When A Visitor Applies For A Trade Account: when a customer creates a trade account on your website
When A Visitor Enters Their Email In The Newsletter Field On Your Website: when a customer enters their email address into the newsletter signup form on your website
For each event choose an audience from the drop-down menu:
If you have recently created an audience and it is not yet appearing in the drop-down menus, select Refresh Lists in the top right corner:
Use the ‘Confirmation Email’ section to decide if an email should be sent to a subscriber when they are added to a MailChimp audience asking them to confirm that they want to be added to the list:
If you want a confirmation email to be sent, place a tick in the box beside ‘Yes’. If you don’t want an email to be sent, don’t tick the box.
Once you have finished configuring your settings select save changes.
Importing existing subscribers into your MailChimp audiences
Once you have installed and configured your settings for the MailChimp app in your account any new subscribers will automatically be sent to the audience which you have set. Existing subscribers, that registered with you prior to when you installed the app, will not automatically be sent to MailChimp. However, you can easily import your existing subscribers into a MailChimp audience by first taking an export of your existing subscribers.
To take an export of your existing subscribers select Download All:
from the menu. In the top right corner selectA CSV file of your existing subscribers will then be downloaded to your computer’s hard drive.
To import the file return to your MailChimp account and select Audience from the left menu to be taken to your audience dashboard. On the dashboard select Manage Audience on the audience you want to import the file to:
From the menu that opens select Import contacts:
When asked how you would like to import your contacts choose ‘Upload file’ and select Continue to Upload:
Attach the file from your computer’s hard drive and select Continue to Organize:
Finish configuring your import by choosing a status for the contacts, adding tags if you want to and matching the import’s columns to the appropriate MailChimp fields.
Once you have finalised your import the subscribers contained within your CSV file should be successfully imported into the selected audience list.
