Doofinder

To begin using Doofinder with ShopWired, create your store in your Doofinder account.

1. Navigate to the Doofinder website
2. Sign in or create a new account
3. Enter your ShopWired website URL

Doofinder will prompt you to provide product data, generated from your ShopWired account.

To provide Doofinder with your product data:

1. Install the Product multi-channel feed app
2. Obtain the URL for your product feed from your ShopWired account
   • ShopWired recommends using the Only published products feed
3. Enter this URL into your Doofinder account into the product feed URL setting

Doofinder requires the CSS selector for your search bar so it can attach its search layer to your website.

The steps below show how to obtain a CSS selector using Google Chrome. The process may differ slightly depending on the browser you are using.

1. Open your ShopWired storefront in Google Chrome
2. Right-click on your search bar and select Inspect
3. When the search bar element is highlighted, select the three dots menu in the inspector tools
4. Select Copy > Copy selector
5. Return to Doofinder and paste the selector into the field provided
6. Select Create

Doofinder will now associate its search functionality with your store’s search bar.

Doofinder provides a JavaScript snippet that must be added to your theme so the search engine can load on all pages.

1. Locate the script displayed in Doofinder, similar to the example below:

The code shown in this guide is provided as an example only. You must copy the exact code provided in your own Doofinder account, as the script will be unique to your store.

Add this code to your ShopWired account:

• Navigate to Website > Themes and select the code editor
• Open the master.twig file
• Paste the Doofinder <script> snippet just before the closing </head> tag
• Select save changes

1. Return to Doofinder
2. Select Connect
3. Doofinder will confirm that your store has been created
4. Indexing will begin automatically

You will be redirected to the search engine dashboard.

Once indexing has completed, Doofinder will display sample results using your product data. Your search layer is now connected and Doofinder will continue processing your store data based on your feed and configuration settings.

If you add or update products in ShopWired, prepare a new feed and upload it to Doofinder to ensure your search results stay accurate.

Reload your website and test a few product searches to confirm the Doofinder search layer is working correctly.

Doofinder may take time to process newly uploaded product data. Check your Doofinder dashboard for the latest indexing status.

If your theme uses a customised search bar, ensure the copied selector matches the correct element so Doofinder can attach the search layer.
