Digital download settings
To adjust the settings for your digital downloads, select from the menu:
Under Link Lifetime place the number of days that you want your customer to be able to download the link for. For example, if you put 10 in the box, the customer would be able to download the file up to 10 days after they placed the order.
Under Download Limit put how many times you want the customer to be able to download the file. For example, if you put 3 in the box, the customer would only be able to download the file 3 times.
With the File Name Format setting you can, if you would like, determine the format of the file name when the customer downloads it to their hard drive. In order to do this you will need to enter a variable (or multiple variables) in the box. The 3 variables that are available for you to use are:
%product.title% This variable places the name of the product in the download name.
%product.sku% This variable places the SKU code (if you have entered one) in the download name.
%product.brand.title% This variable places the brand (if the product is assigned to one) in the download name.
You can use all 3 variables, or you can choose to not use this feature at all. To use multiple variables just place each variable in the box as shown below:
